THERE was plenty to celebrate for three Isle of Wight families on New Year’s Day, with a trio of babies coming into the world at St Mary’s Hospital maternity unit.
First, at 2.12am, was a 7lb 9oz baby boy born to Vanessa Scovell and her partner Chris Endacott, from Ryde.
Next, making an appearance at 10.13am, was 6lb 13oz Layla, born to Louise and Russell Filby, from Freshwater.
At 2.50pm 7lb 7oz Jasmine entered the world. She is the daughter of Lucie Green and Ben Thurman, from Freshwater.
