A police officer's wife is furious police took no action over a group of boys who broke into a changing room.
The woman, who does not want to be named, says her husband spotted the youths breaking into football changing rooms in the recreation ground behind Woodside Road, Sidcup.
Her husband, who was off duty, called the police and four boys were arrested on suspicion of burglary. They were taken to Bexleyheath police station but were all allowed to leave without charge or a caution.
The police say three of the four boys denied doing anything wrong. The fourth boy admitted breaking open the changing rooms' door but it became obvious he had learning disabilities and did not understand what he was admitting. So all four were released.
A spokesman said the policeman's description of the boys was not good enough to identify them.
But the officer's wife is furious. She added: βIt was obviously in the 'too much work to bother' file. Next time, I hope my husband looks the other way.β
