Bishop's Stortford..........25

(London League North Div Two)

BISHOP'S STORTFORD broke their league duck with a spirited second half comeback against bottom of the table Chingford.

But the dramatic turnaround, which saw Stortford recover from 18 points adrift at the interval, owed more to the treacherous conditions than any great tactical improvement.

Although Chingford built up a solid lead, playing with the wind, the margin never looked like being enough. A confident Stortford side soon set about whittling away that lead and within minutes a good forward effort saw a penalty try awarded. Micky Coleman converted to add the extra points.

Winger Matthew Leeks then touched down under the posts after an elusive run and Coleman again converted to put the visitors to within four points of Chingford at 14-18.

Two Coleman penalties gave Stortford a two-point advantage and in the final minute Andy Miller scored the telling try after a well worked move at the base of the scrum.
