DISCOUNTED rail fares to the London 2012 Olympics do not apply from Isle of Wight stations.
Island Line said the scheme, co-ordinated by National Rail, provided a saving of around 20 per cent on fares to the Games.
However, the discount was not valid from the Isle of Wight because the journey involved a ferry crossing with a private operator.
Discounted tickets can only be used from Portsmouth.
A spokesperson from Island Line said: "The tickets do not include any add-on elements for any part of the country, for example, a journey which involves a bus, tram or ferry crossing."
