A GREENWICH primary school has been commended by government inspectors.
St Joseph's Roman Catholic Primary School, in Commerell Street, East Greenwich, received a massive vote of confidence from the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted).
The report found the school was “very successfully meeting its aims” and pupils “had a very clear understanding of right and wrong”.
The report is a boost after the school was inspected in 1998 when standards in English, mathematics and science were found to be “well below average”. This time the same standards were found to be “well above average”.
Greenwich Council's executive member for lifelong learning, Councillor Peter Kotz, said: “It is great to see results such as these from another of the borough's schools.”
