A FORMER Isle of Wight plant nursery could be sold to become a caravan park.
The Isle of Wight Council is expected to make a delegated decision on the future of the Sunnycrest Nursery this month, which could lead to the nursery being sold for £390,000.
The nursery, in Wacklands Lane, Newchurch, had been let to a charity providing employment and training for people with disabilities, however the charity surrendered its tenancy earlier this year.
The site was advertised for offers in excess of £450,000, however the council said in a report published today (Wednesday) that there was limited interest and the highest offer received was for £390,000 from the adjoining land owner.
The deal depends on planning permission being granted for a change of use for the location to become a caravan site.
A decision is not due to be taken until Thursday, next week, at the earliest.
