THEY may have only just finished washing off the mud from this year’s Isle of Wight Festival, but Vectis 4x4 Response are planning on getting dirty all over again, this time for a fundraiser.
The voluntary group was drafted in to help in a massive operation to rescue revellers stuck in the mud at this year’s event.
Now the group has organised a fundraiser, on September 16, after Cheverton Farm, Shorwell, donated the use of their Chevy Chase Cycle Track and two fields.
The event is being supported by MP Andrew Turner, police and fire service and teams have been invited to sign up to race against cyclists from the emergency services.
There will be a tug of war, barbecue, games and a raffle and the group has appealed for anyone able to donate a raffle prize or who would like to take part to contact 01983 563296.
