INDEPENDENT Arts is inviting older people on the Isle of Wight to share their ideas and suggestions for its new Time and Tide arts project at a series of public forums starting next week.
Earlier this year, the charity was awarded an £85,000 Celebrating Age grant from Arts Council England, to fund an Island-wide programme designed to encourage older people to participate in arts events.
Independent Arts will be working in partnership with Age UK IW, the Southern Housing Group, museums and libraries.
Time and Tide will provide creative workshops and pop-up exhibitions.
Independent Arts project manager Jessica Paine said: "Time and Tide celebrates the Island's aging community, as well as its natural and cultural heritage.
"Older people are at the heart of our decision making and we'd like to hear their ideas to ensure we provide an exciting programme of arts workshops, across a range of art forms. Our upcoming forums give older people the opportunity to share their ideas."
There will be forums at the Really Useful Cafe, at the West Wight Sports Centre, between 10am and noon on Thursday; at Cowes Library between 10.30am and noon, on Thursday, July 13; and at Sandown Library, between 10.30am and noon, on Friday, July 14.
