AN OLYMPIC episode of long-running children's television programme Blue Peter will be filmed on the Isle of Wight.

Blue Peter's Big Olympic Tour will arrive on the Island on Saturday, July 14 and film at Osborne House, East Cowes.

The live programme, presented by Naomi Wilkinson and Barney Harwood, will provide a guide to the Olympics for children.

After each live show on the tour, the hosts and special guests will host a fun-packed event, which will encourage families to take part in a host of activities.

There will be a range of Olympic sports, a chance to be a sports commentator and learn about the history of the Olympics.

Families and children wishing to be in the audience for the live show can apply to be included in the random draw on the BBC Tickets website. The draw closes on Saturday, June 30 at 10pm.

Doors open at 8.15am for the live show, but families can attend the event following the show any time between 10am and 4pm. No tickets are needed for this.
