ECO-CLOTHING company Rapanui is hosting an open day tomorrow (Monday) for young unemployed people.

The event takes place between 3.30pm and 7.30pm and will allow people to find out more about the Cowes-based business and current job opportunities.

"We have several positions available at the moment and are finding it frustrating trying to fill the positions as we know youth unemployment is bad on the Island and we are keen to help out by offering them apprenticeships and a future career.

"So we decided to team up with Smart Training and Recruitment who deliver the NVQ’s to the apprentices here by doing an open day at the Cowes Factory to give people the opportunity to come and check out what is available," said a spokesman.

The company has also worked with JobCentre Plus, Connexions and Learning Links to promote the open day and the current opportunities.
