The 2012 Isle of Wight myisleofwight.com award winners.
VISITORS had their first chance to vote for the top Isle of Wight attractions.
A total of 4,422 people voted in categories covering the best places and things to see, do, eat and stay on the Island.
The result? Twenty-three Island businesses were celebrated at the inaugural myisleofwight.com awards, held at The Garlic Farm, Newchurch.
Awards recognised the hard work and important contribution attractions make to the Island as a visitor destination.
The event, hosted by Red Funnel and myisleofwight.com, also saw the launch of the 2013 awards.
Voting is now open for 2013 and, already, nearly as many votes have been cast as were made in the whole of last year.
Red Funnel’s head of marketing Tom Pell-Stevens said: "We are delighted to be involved in these flagship awards — the only visitor voted for awards on the Island.
"It is fantastic to be able to feedback what the visitors love best about their experience to the industry in this way and we’re sure next year will be even more exciting, as the businesses’ competitiveness has now been unleashed."
Full list of results in the Friday, October 4, County Press.
