Outboard engines stolen from compound

A HIGHLY organised theft of outboard engines, estimated to be worth up to £100,000, took place in Yarmouth last Thursday night, according to police.

The theft involved four large outboards, stolen from the back of vessels being stored in the compound.

The missing items are a black Suzuki DF 90 (serial number 09003F-211101 and model number DF ATLK12), a metallic grey 150hp Yamaha 150 outboard, (serial number 63P1089143) along with a Ribeye boat cover and an engine battery, a Yamaha F80 80hp outboard (serial number 607L1004982J) along with a boat battery, and a Mariner 25hp outboard engine (serial number OR569408) and control panel.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact Isle of Wight CID on 101.

*It was initially reported the motors were stolen from Yarmouth Marine Service yard, due to information supplied by the police.

It has since been confirmed they were taken from River Yar Boatyard, Gasworks Lane.
