Jordan's volley seals it

Potters Bar Town 1 London Colney 0

The visitors arrived with an unbeaten run of 11 games behind them and the game got off to a competetive, fast start.

In the first minute Lee Talbot fired in a quick shot which the keeper saved. Talbot was again involved on the half hour when he found Neil Jordan who angled in a ball which beat the visitors' defence but also evaded the Town strikers.

Chris Shannon then had a good chance a minute before the break when he latched onto Talbot's cross but directed his header straight at the keeper.

The deadlock was finally broken five minutes into the second half when Neil Jordan went down the left wing and found that man Talbot again who struck home a crisp volley from 18 yards.

Steve Smart headed a good chance over and then failed to beat the keeper when put in the clear. From the resulting corner the visitors' keeper pulled off a fantastic save from Matt Corbould's header.

More half chances were spurrned but Town claimed the points despite being a little below par.

o In the O'Brien Cup last Tuesday goals from Steve Smart, Ryan Harris and Lee Talbot (2) earned Town a win against St Margaretsbury.
