WHITEDARTS Swimmer and club men's captain Andrew Chalmers won two golds and achieved two national qualifying times at the Kent Amateur Swimming Association Championships.
Held at the Black Lion Sports Centre, in Gillingham, Chalmers won a thrilling final of the under-17s 100 metres breaststroke in a national qualifying time of 1min 09.39sec, when the first three swimmers finished within six-hundredths of a second of each other.
Adam Knight from Dover Life Guard Club finished second and Mark White of the City of Rochester Swimming Club was third.
Chalmers from Swanley, also won the under-17s 200m breaststroke when improving his personal best by four seconds to 2:30.40.
This time an event-best and also broke the previous record by more than four seconds as well as being a qualifying time for the National Championships, being held in Sheffield in August.
Last year, Chalmers finished third in the 50m breaststroke and ninth in the 100m breaststroke at the National Championships, and competed in two international competitions in Hungary and Germany.
After these most recent performances, he had better get his passport ready as he could have another busy year ahead of him!
