I am no expert, but it says it was taken during a "private viewing"?
Firstly, are they implying that it was the private viewers who took it?
If so, how did they make the appointment, telephone/email/letter? If so trace it and also any CCTV in the shop/local area, but that is obvious.
Secondly, for what reason do people have to arrange these special viewings to make themselves feel so important?
Because after all it is just a piece of canvas covered in a coloured oil surrounded by a thin wooden frame, hardly worthy of trying to act like James Bond so nobody else sees you!
Good luck with the search btw and keep checking eBay, always dodgy stuff on there no doubt!
