THE West Wight will go flipping crazy on Tuesday with two separate sets of Pancake Day races.
The first will be the traditional races in The Square, Yarmouth, which is run by the town’s Carnival Committee from 10.30am. Around 100 children from the town school will take part in a service at St James’s Church before the fun and games.
Yarmouth PTFA will have a cake stall outside the town hall with hot drinks inside and the George Hotel will provide pancakes with all money raised going to the school. Among the adult races, there will also be the Shrove Tuesday Trophy in the pubs and clubs event.
At 4pm, the West Wight Sports and Community Centre, Freshwater, will be hosting its first pancake racing event in its sports hall.
There will be races for all age groups, with free entry. Tea, coffee and crepes will be available throughout the fun from Cafe Moa.
