FOR some colourful, all-action entertainment this Christmas, the Spotlight Isle of Wight theatre company is performing the panto Rapunzel at Shanklin Theatre.

Some £35,000 has been spent on the lavish production, which is packed with special effects.

The show, directed by Dominic Pope, stars Rowan Lathey as Rapunzel, the long-haired beauty locked in a tower by a wicked witch. She is supported by Charles Johnson, as the dashing prince, James Pellow, as Dame Poison Ivy, and Pope, as Sheriff Riff Raff.

The show runs from Boxing Day to January 2, at 2.45pm daily, with an additional show on December 28, at 7pm.
