THE sale of Island resident parking permits has been suspended ahead of the Isle of Wight Council’s cabinet meeting this evening (Tuesday), when its budget plans will be finalised.
The sale of the permits, costing £75, was suspended on Friday. The price is expected to rise to £200 if the budget proposals are agreed.
If the rise is confirmed by the ruling Conservative cabinet, permits will go on sale at the old rate from tomorrow but will only be valid up until April 1, when the new price is expected to come into force.
