A CHILDREN’S nursery on the Island got 2012 off to a flying start by receiving a top-of-the-range play car.

The Limpets Nursery, based at the Elim Pentecostal Church, Ryde, was presented with a children’s pedal car by Pondwell couple Derek and Myra Moore, of Pondwell Close.

Pastor Paul Meredith received the gift on behalf of the nursery last Monday.

Mr and Mrs Moore won the car in a Christmas draw at the Busy Bee Garden Centre, Ryde, on Christmas Eve.

The car is worth £295.
