A SERIES of parish and town council roadshows are to be held by Isle of Wight Highways PFI provider, Island Roads, over the coming months.
The company said the events would be an opportunity for people to hear more about how the highway service will be changing from April next year and what it will mean for Islanders.
Island Roads service director Paul Herbert said: "This is the start of getting to meet local people and explain the proposals our team has developed over more than two years of working with the Isle of Wight Council and local officers.
"It is great to see how interested people are in the way in which the highway service will be delivered."
The roadshows will focus on each local area, known as districts for the highways service, and its particular needs and priorities.
The first will be held at County Hall on Tuesday at 6pm, covering the Newport District, with a second taking place at Sandown Bay Academy for the Sandown and Shanklin area.
Further events are taking place in January in Ryde, West Wight, Ventnor and Cowes.
Island Roads is also inviting local suppliers and businesses to a "Meet the Buyer" event at Lakeside Park Hotel, Wootton Bridge, on November 20.
Island Roads is a partnership established between the Isle of Wight Council, VINCI Concessions, Meridiam Infrastructure and Ringway to provide the highway maintenance services on the Island from April 1, 2013.
