One of the Island's red squirrels in the snow. Picture by Stuart Shore of Wight Wildlife Photography.
AS SOON as the snow started to fall, wildlife photographer Stuart Shore was pulling on his walking boots and heading for the countryside to capture stunning shots like this.
"I went primarily to photograph the squirrels in the snow, near Alverstone," said Stuart, of Wight Wildlife Photography.
"I took a few nuts with me and they know to come and say hello now.
"It’s an iconic scene, and you have to take your chances as soon as the snow comes. I was out for two days and there was a lot of waiting around in the cold for these shots but how often do we get snow like this on the Island?"
