Police appeal after bus assault

Police appeal for help to identify three men following bus assault

ISLE of WIght Police are appealing for help to identify three men following an assault on a Newport to Ryde bus.

A 20-year-old man was punched repeatedly in the head and knocked unconscious following an altercation with a group of three men, also believed to be in their 20s.

The incident occurred on the number 9 bus at around 3.20am on Sunday, February 16.

A police spokesman said that it was also reported a wine bottle was thrown by one of the men, hitting the bus window.

The group of men got off at Cross Street, Ryde.

The 20-year-old man was taken to hospital.
