AN appeal for witnesses has been launched by police after a large section of fence was damaged.

Isle of Wight police have appealed for information after an incident on Thursday, January 3, when youths are believed to have kicked in an 18ft length of household fence along the Broadway, Totland.

The incident is believed to have occurred between 9.30pm and 10.30pm.

A police spokeswoman said one youth was wearing a grey hoodie, while another wore a white T shirt. The group is thought to have walked towards The Avenue and the One Stop shop.

"Police want to hear from anyone who saw the incident or saw a group of youths in the area before, during or after the incident," she said.

Anyone with information can contact PCSO Michael Thornton at Yarmouth on 101.
