The under 15 girls' team gave an excellent account of themselves on the Tooting Bec track, scoring several wins and a number of personal bests.

There were wins for Lisa Wellman in the 100 metres and Sheryl Baker and Sophie Cowdrey in both strings of the 800m. And in the field events, Alison Williams and Zenab Farag dominated both divisions of the shot, javelin and discus competitions.

Other under 15 winners were Carly Trievnor in the 75m hurdles and 200m and Sam Gale in the 200m B race. The senior event saw Aimee Cousins win the 100m B race and Caset Relf first past the post in the 400 metres B race.

Tom Marshall's win in the under 17 hammer competition at Erith last week earned him the title of "Athlete of the Match" and team-mate Russell Bethel made it a double celebration by winning the B string event, with the positions reversed in the shot.

Other winners in the boys' events were Phillip Parkinson, Max Hall, Daniel Crawford, Stephen Stapley, James Lamb and Andrew Webster.

Meanwhile, last weekend saw Dartford AC athletes compete in Bromley, Erith and Dartford and three of the teams pick up second places in the overall team events.

The Mens' Southern League Division 5 team at Norman Park clinched second place behind Blackheath and wins were scored by John Petts, Dave Blackwell, Dave Payne and Vic Withey.

In the National Junior League at Erith, the under 20s men and ladies teams also scored two seconds. Winners for the ladies were Jade Weekes and Emma Clifford in the high jump and Nicola Jenkins and Natasha Forgle in the field events.

Outstanding for the mens' under 20 team were Sam Coombes, Jimmy Cross, Andrew Pickett, Tom Fahey, Liam Lucas, Alex Lee, Chris Fox and Terry Hawkey.

And in the Walking Grand Prix at Dartford, wins for the team came from Carly Tomlin, who broke a new club record in the 10km race, Natasha Fox and Nicola Phillips.

Dartford Harriers walking team is the current leaders in the UK Grand Prix series and Nicola Phillips, Sarah Catermole and Clare Reeves have been all chosen to compete for the UK team who will travel to Germany in June.
