Police appeal after serious crash

POLICE have appealed for information following a collision between a car and a tractor in which a man suffered life-threatening injuries.

The crash happened at Newport Road, Northwood, near the County Showground, at around 6.05am yesterday (Monday) morning.

A black Mazda 2 TS collided with a tractor and caught fire.

The 43-year-old driver of the car was taken to St Mary's Hospital with severe head injuries.

He was later transferred to Southampton General Hospital, where his condition is described as life threatening.

The driver of the tractor was not injured.
