Police appeal for witnesses after collision in Sandown

POLICE on the Isle of Wight have appealed for witnesses after a car collided with a porch in Sandown early on Friday morning.

The collision took place at around 2.50am when a blue Peugeot 106 was in collision with a porch at an address on The Broadway, Sandown.

Investigating officer PC Laura Cade said: "It is believed the car was travelling along Avenue Road and made a right turn at the roundabout onto the Broadway.

"It then collided with the front porch of a house on the opposite side of the road.

"Witnesses have told police there were a number of people in the car. They are alleged to have left the collision scene a short time later."

They were described as three men aged in their late teens and early 20s who were wearing dark clothing.

Also seen was a young woman aged in her late teens to early 20s who was wearing a light coloured top and trousers. She also had long blonde hair.
