PENSIONERS are being warned to look out for thieves who are targeting them as they collect their benefits.

A 57-year-old man was robbed by two women after he had collected his benefits from a post office in Uxbridge Road, West Ealing at 1pm on Tuesday, January 15.

The suspects, both around 5ft and of medium build, one with shoulder-length hair and the other with a pony tail, followed the man into Broomfield Road before pushing him from behind and taking £210 .

Inspector Richard Giel said: "It would seem that these two women were watching the post office. They simply waited for their victim to leave with his money and took their chance. If robbers are operating in this way then vulnerable people such as the elderly need to be alert.

"Most criminals are cowards and will only really target people they know they will have no problem taking on."
