POLICE want to trace a van owner who came to the aid of a scooterist following a possible hit and run incident in Brading last week.
The injured rider, a 41-year-old woman, claimed she was knocked off her scooter by the driver of a blue sports hatchback, possibly a Corsa, as it overtook her on the Downs Road, Brading, at around 4.40pm on Tuesday.
She told police there were two men in the car and said they failed to stop after the accident.
PC Michael Giddens, of Ryde Safer Neighbourhoods Team, said: "We are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident and we would like to talk to the man in the white van who came to the rider’s assistance.
"The woman was left very shaken by the episode and although she declined any medical assistance, she was left with grazes and bruising and her scooter was badly damaged."
Anyone with information can contact PC Giddens at Ryde Police Station by phoning 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
