POLICE on the Isle of Wight have launched an investigation into reports of a stolen canoe.
On Monday a van with a canoe on its roof was pursued by police in the Newport and Rookley areas.
A canoe was reported stolen from an address in Rope Walk, Seaview. It is thought to have been stolen overnight between Sunday, August 12 and Monday, August 13.
Enquiries have continued this week to trace the canoe and arrest whoever was responsible.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Shanklin Police Station by calling 101. Information can also be given anonymously by calling the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
