Do you fancy being Sutton's answer to David Lloyd or Alex Ferguson? Are you a dynamic team-leader with a desire to spearhead a winning local team to victory in a prestigious competition?

Sutton Leisure Services is looking for support from the local community to help manage teams for the Sutton entry into the London Heathrow Youth Games 1998.

The department is particularly looking for help with the canoeing, boys' volleyball, show-jumping, diving and fencing teams in organising training sessions and selection in the run-up to the finals which take place at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on July 11 and 12.

The games, sponsored by BAA Heathrow, are the largest sports event for youth in Europe, with more than 7,000 competitors all under the age of 19 from the 33 London boroughs, taking part in more than 30 different sports.

Sutton's team is open to all young people who live in the borough or attend a Sutton school.

Team managers do not have to be professionals or have coaching qualifications. They can be club coaches, helpers, mums, dads, friends, teachers or former competitors.

If you are involved in sport locally and are keen to offer your skills and experience to help Sutton's young people to take part in this exciting event, then Sutton Leisure Services Recreation Section would love to hear from you. This is your one-off chance to put something back into your sport!

You must have bags of enthusiasm and a desire to help Sutton's young people to enjoy and participate in sport.

Contact the recreation section on 0181 770 4667.
