POLICE have appealed for witnesses after a report a man was stabbed.
A spokesman said officers were called to Sandown Road near the Co-op store shortly after midnight, yesterday morning, where the victim, a 38-year-old man from Ryde, was found with chest and facial injuries, which were not life-threatening.
Investigating officer DC Angela Gore of Isle of Wight CID said: "I am appealing for any witnesses to this assault, which took place near the Co-op in Lake late on Sunday night. There were motorists driving along Sandown Road and they may have seen a man being attacked or any of the aftermath."
This report is not being linked to any other assaults.
