E-fit images of the man Isle of Wight police want to speak to in connection with suspicious incidents.

AN 11-year-old girl was approached by a man in the latest of a series of suspicious incidents being investigated by Isle of Wight police.

Detectives have issued e-fit images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incidents, the latest of which occurred at around 3pm on Sunday in Cowes.

It followed two similar incidents, in Ryde and Newport.

The first incident occurred at 5pm on Saturday, March 22, and involved a man acting inappropriately towards two 12-year-old girls at Puckpool Park, Ryde.

A second incident occurred at 3.45pm on Tuesday, March 25, when a man approached a 13-year-old girl as she walked home along a footpath behind Christ the King College.

The man was described as white, aged 40 to 60, with grey hair and may have been wearing dark sunglasses.

DS Gary Lyons of Newport DCID said: "I would ask anyone who recognises the e-fit or anyone who knows the man to contact me as soon as possible.

"I would also encourage people to be vigilant and report anything suspicious to us straight away. I would also like to remind people not to speculate about the exact circumstances of these incidents, especially on social media."

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Isle of Wight Investigation Team on 101 and quoting crime reference 44140100934. Information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
