Retirement may bring plenty of free time to pursue unfulfilled dreams, but with it comes unavoidable financial concerns.
Paying for Age will be under discussion in Barnet's second Debate of the Age, at the community care fair on Thursday.
Following the success of the first debate last month, part of a campaign to raise awareness of our ageing society, organisers are inviting readers to air their views on the subject of pensions.
Barnet's director of community services, Jeff Prosser, will chair the debate in gallery ten of the RAF Museum in Hendon, between 2pm and 4pm. The key issues will be financial resources in later life, long-term care financing and the roles of the public and independent sectors.
The panellists will be Paul Seymour, representing the pensions industry, Mervyn Eastman, director of social services in Enfield, Joe Harris of the National Pensioners' Convention and Judith Brodie, policy and communications manager for Age Concern London.
