Police name man found dead in street

POLICE have named a man who was found dead in an Isle of Wight street this weekend.

Christopher William Parsons, 44, of Arnolds Yard, Brading, was found lying on the pavement in Cross Street, Sandown, just after 11pm on Friday.

Attempts to resuscitate him failed and a 50-year-old Sandown man was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder. He has since been released without charge, although has been bailed by police until September 29 on suspicion of possession with intent to supply heroin.

A police spokeswoman said today (Sunday): "A post-mortem examination conducted by a Home Office pathologist found the cause of death has yet to be determined. 

"Further toxicology tests will now be carried out. However Mr Parsons does not appear to have suffered any visible injuries."
