Police probe garage burglary

POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a garage burglary in Yarmouth.

Five bottles of wine, a bottle of champagne and a rare Henri Lloyd coat, with Volvo logos, were reported stolen from an address off the High Street.

A man was woken by noises outside his flat at around 5.25am on February 14 and he later discovered items were missing from his garage.

The occupier had spoken to the two men standing at the junction of the High Street and Basketts Lane and both gave an account of why they were there at the time.

One of the men was wearing a lime green Musto jacket and a blue baseball cap with an Ellesse logo on the front.

Isle of Wight CID is hoping to find out more about the two men seen in the area.

Detectives believe their explanation could be plausible but want to eliminate them from their inquiries.

Anyone with information can contact Isle of Wight CID at Newport Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
