A BE Cool — Play Pool fundraising event is set to be held at Rocket Ronnie’s pool hall, Newport, next Saturday, January 18, to raise funds for Southampton General Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Cash raised from the event will go towards the NICU’s campaign to buy a new cerebral monitor, which is used to monitor brain function and activity.

The event begins at 7pm and there will also be karaoke provided by Paul Anthony. It costs £2 to enter the competition and losing players must also donate 20p per ball left on the table at the end of the game.

Anyone wanting to take part can pop into the pool hall or visit www.facebook.com/Freddysawarenesspage

*The event has been postponed, a new date has not yet been confirmed.
