PLANS to move an Isle of Wight Post Office and extend its opening hours have been announced.
The Post Office is consulting publicly on a proposal to move Yarmouth Post Office from its Quay Street premises to Holdings Newsagents, next door.
Regional network manager, Will Russell, said: "We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Yarmouth and we are confident that this new modern branch will make it easier for our customers to do business with us and also secure services for the future."
The Post Office said opening hours at the proposed new location would be 6.30am to 6pm on Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm on Saturday and 7am to 5.30pm on Sunday, which would be an extra 34.25 hours a week.
The consultation will close on October 1, 2013 and submissions can be made by Freepost, to Your Comments, Post Office Ltd or via email to firstname.lastname@example.org
