A POWER cut left 1,000 properties without electricity this morning (Thursday).
The power cut, which has affected parts of Northwood and Cowes, was caused when an overhead cable came down in a field in Cockleton Lane, Gurnard at about 11.30am.
It is not known what caused the cable to come down.
At around 12.30pm, SSE said engineers were carrying out repairs and power had been restored to all but 282 properties.
