I totally agree with you Simon. I am all for making the world a less polluted place. However carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. The two are entirely separate issues.Probably a good place to end our discussion don't you think?

Sigh.... I hope i'm wrong, I really do. If I am wrong about it, at worst we make the Earth a cleaner, less polluted place for future generations. If I am right, and we do something about it, we avert catastrophic damage.

Fix what problem Simon?Even The Hadley Centre have now had to admit they were wrong. http://wattsupwiththat.com/2013/02/22/ipcc-railroad-engineer-pachauri-acknowledges-no-warming-for-17-years/Climategate or what!!!

I would rather try and do something positive to fix the problem. It's better than sticking my fingers in my ear and saying "I CAN'T HEAR YOU. IT'S NOT HAPPENING!!" January was the 335th straight month above the 20th century average, and the 37th straight warmer-than-average January. So to say that global temperature has not increased is not true. http://www.climatecentral.org/news/warming-climate-yields-another-warm-january-noaa-15635The problem is not JUST big oil. But a multitude of factors. 97% of climate scientists believe that climate change is man made.http://www.skepticalscience.com/news.php?n=734

Oh Yes, the problem is "Big Oil" The mantra continually offered as an excuse to continue the lies and exaggeration spouted by IPCC.Carbon dioxide continues to increase. Global temperature has not increased since 1998. 5 years to save the Planet. spouted by Tony Blair.more than ten years ago. I don't think so.

Their Chief Science Advisor is paid by The Heartland Institute, which in turn in funded by ExxonMobil and the Koch brothers who are hardly impartial.

lol but I should believe an institution headed by a man that thinks that solar activity causes earthquakes. Now that is funny. http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2012/04/the-fraudulent-business-of-earthquake-and-eruption-prediction/

Look at the date and the source of the article Simon. Not a scientific study but produced by an institution financed by the Australian Government. The figures have been subsequently shown to be wildly optimistic.Try this:- http://climaterealists.com/index.php?id=11117&linkbox=true&position=2
