HUNDREDS of people have been affected by powercuts in the Chillerton area today (Tuesday).
A spokeswoman for the company said two separate faults had been reported, at 9.50am and 12.30pm.
The first fault was the result of downed power cables and engineers have been carrying out repairs. Around 112 properties were without power, however the company said it hoped to restore power to those properties by 6pm.
The second fault was also thought to be the result of a downed power cable, affecting another 100 customers. It was not yet known when power would be restored to those properties according to Southern Electric.
The spokeswoman thanked customers for their patience and said they were working to restore power as soon as possible.

Hope that SSE can afford to repair these faults and have not lost too much money in the demise of their "partner" Eco Island! The Technology Strategy Board have lost £2.3 million backing Raybans pipedream.Wonder where that leaves the "Hydrogen" plan in Ventnor!
