KINGS SPORTS' league and county cup double hopes are still alive after a thrilling 5-3 victory over Allenbury Sports.

Keith Hammond's side, who trail Premier Division leaders Hemel Hempstead Rovers by eight points, booked their place in the fifth round of the Herts Junior Cup with a pair of braces from Justyn Caie and Paulo Cezar, plus a Jez Clifton goal.

However, Rovers' double dream died on Saturday; a Pat Coregan brace not enough to save them from a 4-2 loss at Westmill.

Glenn Sports' seemingly inevitable drop to Division One moved another step closer when they were beaten 3-1 at home by Agrevo Sports.

Hemel Hempstead Rovers Reserves took a big move towards the Division One crown by easily overcoming second placed Top of the World 3-0.

Oxhey Wanderers' traditionally slow start to the new year continued with a 1-1 draw against L'Artista, and with it went possibly any hope of winning the league.

A pair of hat-trick heroes helped Jomarth move within four points of Oxhey, as they cantered to a 6-0 win at Langleybury CC.

Elsewhere, strikes from Sunil Weerasinge, Kevin Ramsey and Donald Milligan gave fifth placed Met Police Bushey A an odd goal in five home win over Evergreen OB, while Glen Brown (2), David Halsey, Matt Wright and Danny Woods all netted in Rifle Volunteer's exciting 5-3 win over Aldenham.

Kings Sports Reserves still look a good bet for the Division Two title, despite being held to a surprise 3-3 draw at home by Grovehill Rangers.

Second placed SOS Athletic's home date with Tring Athletic A was fogged off, but Maple Cross, in third, missed the opportunity to close the gap as they went down to a surprise 3-1 defeat at Red Lion Rovers.

Two of Sun Postal Sports' former players, Chris Bellotti and Les Freeman, came back to haunt their old side, as Oaklands Athletic romped to an emphatic 7-1 victory at the Watford-based club.

Elsewhere, Oxhey Reserves were celebrating after goals from R. Parker and Fitzpatrick handed them their first league win of the season, 2-1 at the expense of Potten End.

Kings Langley A (Gary Bunce, Frank McQuire) became the latest team to fall by the wayside as Division Three pace-setters Duke of York continued their promotion march, winning 5-2, thanks to two goals apiece for Stuart Adams and Grant Cornock, and a Dave Burns strike.

Having played a game more, second placed Met Police Bushey B kept up their pursuit of the league leaders; James French and Andy Sonines scoring the goals in a 2-0 defeat of Coach & Horses.

Third placed L'Artista Reserves (Darren Merrifield) went down to a 3-1 defeat at home to Hemel Hempstead Rovers A (Dean Board 2, Ross Knapp).

Paul Napier's goal was enough to give Chipperfield Corinthians A the points at Oxhey Jets B, while Tring Athletic B (Sidwell 2, Burn, Dunnings, Dike) steamrollered Bovingdon A 5-1.
