Ventnor Winter Gardens.
THE Hambrough Group has agreed to erect boarding around its stalled Winter Gardens project at Ventnor to improve its appearance and security.
The group, headed by businessman Kevin Sussmilch, insists it is to press ahead with turning the building into a luxury hotel, conference, entertainment and community meeting centre.
But Monday’s town council meeting was told there was increasing frustration no progress appeared to be being made.

It takes more than 'Friends' to save these buildings. The loss of the WG was more down tom previous apathy

Such a shame that it has become such an eyesore, thought by now it would be up and running. The great people of Ventnor should have been allowed to purchase this building. At least it does not look like a giant public convenience as the new church in Pyle Street, Newport next to the very attractive Catholic Church, who allowed this awful building to be built.

'But Monday’s town council meeting was told there was increasing frustration no progress appeared to be being made' Situation normal then for Ventnor.

Its just my opinion and please don't take this the wrong way..But I find mid 20th century architecture is just so rubbish, this for instance, its like a tower block at a prison camp "arrrgh!" I can't stand it's hideous LOLBut I feel for the people who like this "art deco" (is it?) style and I find it distressing to see the thing all boarded up like that. Sad for Ventnor.
