ANGRY residents of East Cowes and Whippingham marched against plans to build a concrete batching station near their homes.
The controversial application, submitted by the South East England Development Agency, would see the batching plant, plus cement silos, a water tower, storage tanks and parking for articulated lorries, built on land near Kingston.
Objectors say the facility would be too close to the new Queensgate Primary School and the Royal Church of St Mildred.
The application, which has attracted around 350 objections, will now be discussed by Isle of Wight Council planners.
