Radlett Cricket Club's U11s finished as runners-up in an eight-a-side tournament held at the Shenley Cricket Centre on Bank Holiday Monday.

This was the side's first match of the season and they performed well as a team. During the tournament, which was won by Hemel Hempstead, Radlett's skipper Kaylash Morjaria excelled, racking up 35 runs.

He was closely followed by Matt Roy (27), Matt Soffair (26) and Morgan Stanley (20).

In terms of bowling and fielding, the Cobden Hill youngters improved as the day went on, with Parag Shah taking a wicket in every match, finishing with 5-13.

*Radlett's U13s won their first match of the season recently, defeating West Herts U13s 89-4 to 49 all out.

The steadying influence of Matthew Jackson and John Lamptey-Senior, added to a number of extras given away by West Herts, helped Radlett on their way to victory.
