QUAY Arts has applied for a licence that would allow music, films and other entertainment and drinking until 1.30am.
The Isle of Wight Council is due to discuss the application, which has prompted noise concerns from residents living near the Newport venue, next Monday.
The police said some of their concerns had been allayed following a meeting with the venue when it was confirmed the late-night timings would not be regular occurrences and opening hours and alcohol sales would generally be limited to 6pm or 9pm.
