MORE than 5,000 visitors enjoyed traditional activities and displays, complemented by new attractions, at the Victorian Christmas Weekend at Osborne House.
There were costumed characters to involve visitors in traditional pastimes. They included a French chocolatier and toy maker, who helped children make and take home their own toy, and Queen Victoria, who shared a ride on a traditional steam carousel with the youngsters.
Also entertaining youngsters for the first time at this event was a Punch and Judy show.
A hot-chestnut seller provided something to nibble on while they watched the Maritime Brass Ensemble and Singing Chimney Sweeps provide a musical high note with a festive flavour.
Stalls and sideshows included hoop-la.
