CROWDS have gathered this morning to welcome the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh to the Isle of Wight.
The Royal couple took part in a parade of sail that passed thousands of well-wishers gathered along The Green.
During the two hour visit the Queen visited the new Cowes RNLI station and heard a choir from Cowes Primary School perform a song especially written for her by music teacher Becky Bevan.
Michelin-starred chef Robert Thompson presented the Royal party with a hamper of the Isle of Wight's best produce and a specially created version for the Queen's corgies.
Timothy Harris of Isle of Wight Studio Glass presented the Queen with a commemorative glass bowl.

11:41 The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh have left the Isle of Wight. During their visit to Cowes Yacht Haven they met with representatives from the Association of Sail Training Organisations (ASTO), Cowes and Ryde Sea Cadets, The Maritime Volunteer Service (MVS), the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, Sea Scouts, Royal Yachting Association (RYA), UKSA and Cowes Sailability Club.
Lord Lieutentant Maj Gen Martin White thanked the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh for their visit during his speech.
10:41 The Queen has arrived to formally open the new Cowes RNLI station. She will meet volunteers, crew and guests and spectators have been able to watch the visit via a big screen on the Parade.
10:22 The Queen was greeted with three cheers as she came ashore and pupils from Cowes Primary School have performed music teacher Becky Bevan's song The Nation's Crown for her. Some of those in the crowd have been there since 6.30am.
10:00 With the Parade packed and crowds gathered across the rest of Cowes, County Press reporter Jamie White estimates there is well in excess of 12,000 people gathered to welcome the Queen.
"There are Union flags hanging from balconies everywhere and you could not fit more people down here. There is a really good atmosphere," said Jamie.
The Queen is expected ashore at 10.10am
09:33 Isle of Wight Council has advised that there are still spaces at Northwood House temporary event carpark. At around 9.25am the Park Road car park was reported to be almost full.
