HE IS better know for firing questions, but television presenter David Dimbleby will be firing the starting cannon at this year’s Round the Island Race.
The Question Time host is also due to compete in the historic sailing race, which takes place on June 21.
David, who competed in the race during the 1960s — but spent half the voyage in his cabin suffering from seasickness — will fire the first start gun, at 6.30am.
He will be joined this year by his son Fred, 16, on board a Farr 65, along with Team Volvo sailors Luke Patience, a 2012 silver medallist, and Elliot Willis, a two times world champion. They are aiming for gold at the Rio Olympics in 2016 in the Men's 470 class.
