PULSES of torrential rain brought flooding to roads across the Isle of Wight.
Diversions were in place this morning around Avenue Road, Sandown, to avoid deep flood water. Bus services were disrupted.
There was also deep water in Priory Road, Shanklin, and Rew Lane, near Wroxall.
Heavy showers started yesterday (Sunday) afternoon with a thunderstorm and continued overnight.
At Newcomen Road, Lake, a householder called the fire and rescue service when water poured in through a ceiling.
Firefighters, who were called at 4.17am today, cleared a blocked gully, spending nearly an hour at the house.
At 10.15pm firefighters were called to a house in Mount Pleasant Road, Newport. Water damage was traced to a burst pipe and firefighters turned off the supply.
