A SURGEON whose patient died after he left him in the care of a junior doctor has been cleared of serious professional misconduct.
The General Medical Council heard on Monday last week (Jan 28) that Thillaiampalam Kathirgamanathan of Romney Drive, North Harrow, left Dr Srdjan Nikolic alone to sedate Mr Chatterjee at West Middlesex University Hospital in 1996. He later died of a heart attack.
However, the committee accepted that the incident was probably a case of systems failure.
